Gincosan contains a combination of two specific extracts: Ginkgo biloba (GK501) and Panax Ginseng (G115). This combination has demonstrated effectiveness and tolerability in multiple clinical trials. Learn more about Ginkgo biloba and Panax ginseng.

Each capsule contains extracts equivalent to dry: Ginkgo biloba leaf 2.16 g standardised ginkgo flavonglycosides 14.7 mg standardised to ginkgosides & bilobalide 3.6 mg Panax ginseng root 212.5 mg standardised to ginsenosides 4 mg.

Recommended dosage and directions

Adults: Take one capsule after breakfast and one after lunch or as recommended by your healthcare practitioner.

Studies show that in times of increased demand, Gincosan can be taken on the day to support mental energy and performance.3,4 However, to experience full benefits it is recommended to take Gincosan for at least 14 weeks2, or as directed by your healthcare professional. 

Always read the label. Use only as directed. If symptoms persist, see your healthcare professional.


Gincosan is well tolerated.

Panax ginseng may reduce the effect of warfarin (or other coumarin anticoagulants). There may be an interaction between Ginkgo biloba and anticoagulants and antiplatelet drugs (blood thinners). Patients on blood thinning medications should seek medical advice before starting Gincosan.

Is Gincosan likely to interact with any medications?

Before starting Gincosan, it is advised to tell your healthcare professional if you are taking any other medicines, including any that you get without a prescription.

Some medicines and Gincosan may interfere with each other.

These include:

·        efavirenz or efavirenz-containing medications (anti-retroviral medicines, such as those used in HIV)

·        blood thinning medications (medicines that increase the tendancy to bleed), such as anticoagulants, antithrombotics, and antiplatelet medicines.

These medicines may be affected by Gincosan or may affect how well it works. You may need different amounts of your medicines, or you may need to take different medicines.

See your healthcare professional if you are taking or plan to take any of the above medications before taking Gincosan.

Is Gincosan likely to have any side effects?

Gincosan is generally well tolerated.

In rare cases Gincosan may have unwanted side effects in some people. Tell your healthcare professional if you are not feeling well while taking Gincosan or if you notice any of the following and it worries you:

  • gastrointestinal discomfort, such as nausea, stomach pain, and/or diarrhoea

  • headache

These are rare side effects of Gincosan.

Tell your healthcare professional as soon as possible and stop taking Gincosan if you notice any of the following:

  • allergic reaction such as hives, rash, skin irritation, swelling of hands, feet or face

This is a rare side effect of Gincosan. Allergic reactions are serious side effects of any medicines, and requires medical attention.

How long will it take to notice results?

Can Gincosan be used during pregnancy and lactation?

Gincosan is not recommended during pregnancy or lactation as there are no published studies to establish its safe use during pregnancy or while breastfeeding.

Should Gincosan be stopped before surgery?

It is recommended to discuss this with your healthcare professional, including your anaesthetist and surgeon.

Will Gincosan affect my ability to drive and operate machinery?

Gincosan capsules have no known adverse effects in these situations.
