Ellura: Key Ingredient

Ellura contains an exclusive extract of Vaccinium macrocarpon, more commonly known as cranberry. The key active ingredient in cranberries that make them beneficial for  supporting urinary tract health is proanthocyanidins (PACs). 36 mg of bioactive PACs is the clinically researched dose shown to help prevent bacteria attaching to the urinary tract wall.1

Using Ellura

Recommended dosage & directions

Ellura can be taken at first signs of medically diagnosed cystitis to help keep harmful bacteria in the urinary tract under control. Ellura can be used ongoing to maintain urinary tract health and help reduce the frequency of medically diagnosed recurrent cystitis.

 

Adults and adolescents 12 years and over: take 1 capsule daily, or as directed by your healthcare professional.

 

For ongoing urinary tract support, continue taking Ellura or use as recommended by your health professional.

 

Children under 12 years: Discuss with your health professional.   

 

Ellura is generally well tolerated based on clinical research and years of worldwide use. If you have current or a history of kidney stones or kidney disease, it is recommended that you talk to your health professional before taking Ellura. It is recommended that you talk to your health professional if you have any questions about the use of Ellura.

Each capsule contains Vaccinium macrocarpon (cranberry) juice powder 206mg, equivalent to: 

  • fresh fruit 50g standardised to 36mg proanthocyanidins calculated as procyanidin A2

Ellura has been used worldwide to help reduce the frequency of medically diagnosed cystitis and to support urinary tract health. Each batch of Ellura is made using a concentrated cranberry juice extract that contains 36mg of bioactive PACs in every capsule. This is the same amount of PACs that has been clinically researched to help reduce the ocurrence of cystitis through helping to prevent harmful bacteria from attaching to the urinary tract wall.2-5 That’s why you can be confident that Ellura can offer the same benefits demonstrated in the clinical trials.

Medicines with naturally sourced active ingredients can vary considerably depending on the species of plant chosen, the way it is grown and harvested, the extraction and the production processes. So it’s essential to ensure the product you’re getting is the same as the one shown in clinical research to support urinary tract health.

Ellura can be taken alongside common medicines for urinary tract health as there are no known reported interactions with these medicines. However, it is always recommended to talk to a health professional before taking medicines in combination. 

If you are taking or plan to take blood-thinning agents (anti-coagulants such as warfarin or asprin) talk to your health professional before starting Ellura. These types of medicines may be affected by Ellura or may affect how well it works.

Although there are no known interactions in pregnancy and breastfeeding when using Ellura, it is recommended to speak with your healthcare professional before starting Ellura if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. 

Before giving to children under the age of 12 years of age seek advice from a health professional. For children over 12 years the dosage is 1 capsule daily with water.

Ellura is not expected to cause drowsiness or affect the ability to drive or use machines.

There is no data regarding the use of Ellura before or during surgery. It is important to first discuss this with your healthcare professional, including your anaesthetist and surgeon, before surgery.

Ellura capsules with AUST L 282868 printed on the front of the carton contain a vegetarian capsules and are vegan friendly.

An older formulation of Ellura capsules with AUST L 214305 printed on the front of the carton are not vegan friendly as they contain a gelatin capsule derived from fish.

Ellura is suitable for vegetarians. Ellura has no added gluten, wheat, yeast, soy, dairy, egg, sugar, artificial colours, flavours or sweeteners.
