Premular®
Premular® (Vitex agnus-castus, special extract Ze 440) is recommended for the relief of Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS). PMS includes physical symptoms such as breast tenderness and behavioural symptoms including anger and irritability.
Many of the symptoms of PMS are thought to be related to changes in the levels of the female hormone prolactin. Premular is thought to inhibit prolactin by competitively binding to dopamine receptors.

How to use Premular
What Premular tablets are used forPremular tablets are recommended for the relief of premenstrual symptoms. This includes the PMS symptoms of headache, anger and irritability.
Before you use Premular tablets* Due to absence of clinical data, Premular should not be used in patients with severe renal impairment (kidney problems) or hepatic impairment (liver problems). * Breastfeeding - There is no data on the use of Premular during breastfeeding. Premular should only be used during breastfeeding under medical recommendation. * Contraindications - Known hypersensitivity to the fruits of Vitex agnus-castus or to the tablet ingredients.
How to take Premular tabletsAdults take one small, easy to swallow tablet daily with water on rising. Initially, a 3-month prescription is recommended with an ideal prescription being continued to 6-9 months. Use only as directed and if pain or symptoms persist, consult your doctor or health care professional.
While you are taking Premular tabletsYou should remind your health care professional that you are taking Premular tablets, especially if you are currently taking or intend starting any other medicine.
Effects on ability to drive and operate machineryPremular tablets have no known adverse effects in these situations.
Side effectsNo serious side effects have been recorded. Occasional itching of the skin may occur and in very rare cases, at the start of the treatment only, certain isolated premenstrual symptoms may be slightly increased.
StoragePremular tablets should be stored in their original packaging, be protected from moisture and sunlight and be kept in a cool place that stays below 25oC.
