The Australian launch of the ‘Gold Standard’ in Panax Ginseng – Ginsana® (G115) |
| Jun 01 2010 |
A recent survey (IMS 2008) established that malaise and fatigue are the most medically untreated complaints reported by 95.4% of patients.
In answer to the ‘chronically tired’ patient, Flordis has today launched Ginsana (G115), the ‘gold standard’ and most scientifically researched ginseng product in the world.
Panax ginseng (named ‘Panax ginseng’ by the Russian botanist Carl Anton Meyer in 1843) is one of the most renowned tonics especially in the Chinese Materia Medica. Its usage was first documented over 2000 years ago.
Ginsana is specifically clinically proven to:
- Increase perceived physical condition and fitness by activating cell metabolism and facilitating oxygen intake, making it suitable in cases of exhaustion and fatigue.
- Increase the number and activity of some immune system components.
- Increase mental capacity and concentration in ginseng products which will directly answer how to treat the chronically tired patient.
These claims are supported by 30 years of published research including 54 preclinical studies and 46 clinical studies including double-blind, placebo-controlled trials. This research has been conducted with Ginsana (G115) the EXACT product available to health care practitioners today.
Ginsana is manufactured by the Swiss company Ginsana SA who ensure quality control is maintained at every stage of the process, from ‘Seed to Patient’. Five to seven years of growth is required to bring the plant from seed to useful harvest.
More than 200 compounds have been identified in the Panax ginseng main root. The origin of the plant; growing conditions and its treatment after harvest determine the composition of the major active ingredients. These are thought to be triterpenoid glycosides or saponins, also known as ginsenosides, grouped as panaxadiols (PD) and panaxatriols (PT).
Every batch of Ginsana has the same known and consistent level of the main active constituents. Ginsana always contains 4% ginsenosides, as the optimum activity is seen at this concentration. This ensures a constant ratio of the PD (notably the Rg1) to PT (notably the Rb1). Nonetheless, it is believed that the various ginsenosides act together with the other compounds present in the root to yield a synergistic effect.1 Validated analytical methods by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) are used to control the standardisation of Ginsana. A 20-step standardisation process guarantees product quality and reproducibility.
Efficacy has been proven in 30 years of published research and no toxic effects or serious adverse events have been observed in clinical studies. Ginsana was rarely reported to cause insomnia as an unwanted side effect and does not cause tolerance. The dosage is 2 capsules with breakfast or 1 capsule at breakfast and 1 at lunch.
