Germany’s leading OTC gastro medicine - now available in Australia!

Australians now have access to a clinically proven herbal medicine for Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and dyspepsia. Millions of people worldwide have improved the common symptoms of bloating, constipation, abdominal pain, acid reflux, nausea and fullness by using a special clinically trialled herbal medicine.

This remarkable product, called Iberogast, is made from a unique combination of 9 different herbs. Iberogast works in a special way by both calming and stimulating the gastrointestinal tract depending on what is required to restore natural function.

As many as 30% of the population suffer symptoms associated with the gut. Often sufferers have not been seen by their health professionals, or have struggled to find a solution that works.

Professor Gerald Holtmann, from Germany, will soon be moving to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he will be continuing his world-leading medical research as Director of Gastroenterology, Hepatology and General Internal Medicine. Professor Holtmann emphasises the importance of patients discussing their symptoms with a health professional. “People who suffer from these symptoms should discuss them with their doctors. There are now options available which can significantly improve their quality of life.”

Professor Holtmann has used Iberogast for many years and been involved in the planning and conduct of some of the key clinical trials which have proven its benefits.

Concerning the launch of Iberogast in Australia, Professor Holtmann adds “the evidence supporting Iberogast is very impressive. There are very few herbal products that have been subjected to this level of scientific scrutiny. The data on Iberogast in terms of improving symptoms is excellent. This is great news for people who prefer to take something natural”.

Professor Holtmann stresses the importance of clinical evidence. “It is not possible to be sure that a medicine works and is safe unless it has been rigorously tested in clinical trials, where the people who are taking it are carefully followed over time”. He cautions that “many herbal and natural products in Australia have not been clinically trialled and people should make sure that they seek herbal medicines which have been carefully tested like other medicines. This is indeed the case for Iberogast”.

Iberogast is available from Flordis, an Australian company now providing Australians with the best researched herbal medicines in the world. Other products available from Flordis include proven medicines for stress and anxiety, insomnia, premenstrual symptoms and natural fibre supplementation. All Flordis herbal medicines are backed by clinical data.

Flordis Managing Director, Nigel Pollard explains, “as the medically active substances in the plants are unknown, the only way to guarantee that a medicine made from that plant is active and safe is to test it in a clinical trial. In some countries, the Flordis products even outsell their pharmaceutical equivalents. This is the case for Iberogast which is the leading over the counter medicine for gastro conditions in Germany, selling over 5 million bottles last year.”

Iberogast is available from natural therapists, herbalists, holistic doctors and other health professionals, for RRP $21.20 (50ml) for a 16 day supply. For further information, visit the Flordis website at www.flordis.com.au or freecall 1800 334 224.
