Flordis Research Update

The end of the year seems a fitting time to review the ongoing research on 4 of the Flordis specifically clinically proven products. At Flordis, we are committed to bringing you the best evidenced natural products from around the world, which is why to be part of the range, each product has to have an established body of published data. We are also dedicated to encouraging ongoing research for our products and as such, work closely with Australian researchers.

Remotiv® - the Brain Sciences Institute, Swinburne University of Technology is conducting an open label study investigating the efficacy of Remotiv, Hypericum Perforatum special extract (Ze 117), nicotine patches and combination Ze 117 / nicotine patches for smoking cessation. The results are expected in early 2011.

KeenMind®- the Brain Sciences Institute is also running a large scale study on KeenMind (CDRI 08) in 310 healthy elderly participants for a period of 12 months to determine KeenMind’s role in reducing the cognitive effects of ageing. This is funded by an ARC Discovery Grant.

Ginsana® - our ‘gold standard’, most scientifically researched Panax ginseng product Ginsana (G115) is being studied in a National Health and Medical Research Council (NHMRC) funded research in a double-blind trial for the effect in patients with moderate COPD.

Iberogast® (STW 5), our AUST R registered product is being studied at the Royal Adelaide Hospital in a double-blind, placebo-controlled trial for functional dyspepsia compared to acid lowering medication, esomeprazole (Nexium®). This study is in recruitment phase and is also funded by a NHMRC grant.
