Just in time for this winter’s cold and flu season, Flordis is launching Sinupret Forte® which is specifically clinically proven to treat the symptoms of sinusitis, sinus pain and mild upper respiratory tract infections.

Sinupret was developed by herbalists early in the last century and has been used extensively by naturopaths and doctors worldwide for 77 years. Originally, it was a liquid formulation; however, over the years, this galenical preparation has been developed into Sinupret tablets and Sinupret Forte tablets joining the original in 1968 and 1997.

The Sinupret products are some of the most widely used herbal medicines in the world with 7 decades of clinical usage and 3 decades of clinical research. Sinupret Forte is a unique combination herbal product, including Gentiana lutea, Primula veris, Rumex crispus, Sambucus nigra and Verbena officinalis. Each ingredient brings specific virtues to the formulation. However, it is the sum of the parts within this broad spectrum product which provides the extensive mode of action.

Sinupret Forte has been shown to be a significant secretolytic, regulating secretion and
normalising mucus viscosity. It exerts an anti-inflammatory effect reducing tissue swelling and restoring sinus drainage and ventilation. Also, Sinupret Forte is antiviral and antibacterial and acts as an immunomodulator, restoring the defence function of the respiratory mucous membranes; thereby, interrupting the vicious cycle of sinusits in the paranasal sinuses.

Sinupret/Sinupret Forte have proven efficacy in numerous clinical studies including
4 placebo double-blind and 12 controlled therapeutic studies. Trials have shown:

  • Significantly more effective than placebo for acute and chronic sinusitis.
  • Significantly better than placebo at controlling symptoms when taken with antibiotics and decongestants.
  • Significantly more superior to placebo in clearing the sinuses (shown by x-ray 9 days post treatment)

Sinupret Forte is available in 25 countries worldwide and the Sinupret products have been prescribed around 200 million times in Germany for more than half a century. Adverse reactions are very rare and it is unlikely that there is a safer herbal medicine product available.
