An Australian study on how Iberogast works

A study conducted at the Royal Adelaide hospital was recently published in the American Journal of Gastroenterology. The study looked at the effect Iberogast had on the functioning of the human gastrointestinal tract in order to determine how Iberogast worked.

Researchers gave a single dose of Iberogast or a matching placebo to a group of 29 healthy men and then recorded the resulting changes in the functioning of their gastrointestinal tracts.

The study results show that Iberogast has an effect on gastric motility (movement/function) in specific areas of the gastrointestinal tract. It also helps to stimulate gastric relaxation and specific movements which may contribute to the way in which Iberogast provides relief to patients with functional dyspepsia (heartburn, bloating, cramping, nausea and general stomach pain).
